DIARY DATES
We have lots of events and dates for your diary coming up and new dates will be added as they become available so please check this page regularly. Links to letters sent about up and coming events/trips are also included (once the relevant date has passed the links disappear), if you click on the event you are interested in the corresponding letter will load for you. At the bottom of the list of dates are links to the holiday dates for your information too.
Dates for Autumn Term 2024
• 2nd Sept – INSET day
• 3rd Sept – INSET day
• 4th Sept - Pupils return – EYFS pupils stay till noon only this week
• 9th Sept – EYFS pupils stay till 1pm all week
• 9th Sept – Yr 6 meet teacher - 1.50pm-3pm KS2hall
• 10th Sept – Yr 4 meet teacher - 9.10am-10.10am KS2 hall
• 10th Sept – Yr 3 meet teacher - 1.50pm-3pm KS2 hall
• 11th Sept – Yr 5 meet teacher - 9.10am-10.10am KS2 hall
• 11th Sept – Yr 1 meet teacher - 1.50pm-3pm KS1 hall
• 11th Sept – IOW meeting in KS2 hall – NJ to lead. 6.30pm
• 12th Sept – Yr 2 meet teacher - 1.50pm-3pm KS1 hall
• 17th Sept – 2 Johns visit - all day
• 18th Sept – 2 x staff+ 12 school councillors to Mayors office – 10.30am-11.30am
• 27th Sept – Macmillan Coffee Morning
• 30th Sept – 9.50am – Thurrock Foodbank Assembly KS1 hall
• 30th Sept – 10.15am - Thurrock Foodbank Assembly KS2 hall
• 1st Oct – EYFS Reading parent workshop – 2pm KS1 hall
• 4th Oct – YEP – individual + school sibling photos
• 14th Oct – Yr 6 PGL Residential week plus Activity Week for those Yr 6 not attending (see each day for what the Yr 6 who are staying are doing)
• 14th Oct – Yr 6 to Thriftwood – leave at 930am, collect 2pm. Minibus and cars needed
• 15th Oct – Yr 6 to Thriftwood – leave at 930am, collect at 2pm. Minibus and cars needed
• 16th Oct – Teacher to lead Yr 6 in school activites
• 17th Oct – Pro Sports to lead Yr 6 in school activities
• 18th Oct – Yr 6 to Thameside Nature Park - leave at 9.30am, collect at 2pm. Minibus and cars needed
• 21st Oct – Fire Service assemblies – 11am KS2, 11.30am KS1
• 22nd Oct – EYFS parent phonics and maths workshop in KS1 hall – 2pm
• 24th Oct – Pupils finish for half term
• 25th Oct – INSET day
• 4th Nov – Pupils return
• 6th Nov – EYFS to Thorndon Park Gruffalo
• 18th Nov – KS2 Parents Evening
• 19th Nov - KS2 Parents Evening
• 20th Nov – KS1 Parents Evening
• 21st Nov – KS1 Parents Evening
• 20th Dec – break up for Xmas
• 6th Jan – pupils return to school
Giffards school-calendar-2024-2025 is here. The INSET days, when the school is closed to pupils, are Monday & Tuesday 2nd and 3rd September, Friday 25th October 2024, Friday 23rd May and Monday 2nd June 2025.
